Fire Certificates (Special Premises) Regulations 1976

Interpretation

(1)

In these Regulations unless the context otherwise requires-

   

(a)

"fire certificate" means a certificate issued under these Regulations by the Health and Safety Executive;

"responsible person" in relation to any premises means the person having control of those premises whether as occupier or otherwise, in connection with the carrying on by hum of a trade, business or other undertaking (whether for profit or not) except that in the case of a mine within the meaning of the Mines and Quarries Act 1954(c) the responsible person shall be the manager of that mine;

   

(b)

any reference to a numbered Regulations is a reference to the Regulations in these Regulations bearing that number.

 

(2)

The Interpretation Act 1889(d) shall apply to the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
