Newton Abbot homes evacuated after large pallet fire

Firefighters have tackled a large pallet fire at an industrial estate in Newton Abbot.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the alarm was raised at about 02:00 BST.
Smoke from the fire at Heltor Business Park in the Heathfield area spread to nearby homes, forcing the evacuation of several properties.
Twenty people had to be moved to safety, but no-one was injured. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
A 50m (164ft) exclusion zone was put in place and at the height of the blaze, about 60 firefighters, many wearing breathing apparatus, used foam and jets to tackle the fire.
Fire investigators are due to arrive at the scene later.
