  • 3-16-2012

Three firefighters were injured after their appliance was involved in a crash in Aberdeenshire.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service said the Peterhead fire engine was returning from an incident call when the accident happened on the A98 between New Pitsligo and Macduff at about 14:15.

The vehicle left the road and came to rest on its side down an embankment.

The three men were taken to Turriff Hospital for "treatment and precautionary checks".

They suffered "minor" injuries and were later released.

Grampian Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called out.

An internal investigation into the incident is continuing and a reserve fire engine is providing cover in the Peterhead area.
