Passengers escape double-decker bus in blaze in Pinner

About 20 passengers escaped from a double decker bus after the vehicle caught fire in north-west London.

Transport for London (TfL) said it believed the fire on the H12 bus at Pinner was started "maliciously" and said police were investigating.

The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

The bus caught fire on Eastcote Road, at the junction with Cannon Lane, at 12:30 GMT.

London Fire Brigade had control of the blaze by 13:00 GMT, however flames destroyed the upper deck.
