Arson attacks on eight cars in Ponciau

Eight cars have been deliberately set on fire in a village in a two-hour spell under cover of darkness.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the cars were attacked in Ponciau, near Wrexham between 0241 and 0447 on Saturday morning.

The first two, including a taxi, were set alight in Johnson Street, then one in South Lane.

Three more were set on fire back in Johnson Street, one in Delph Lane and another in South Lane.

Firefighters said not much damage was done to some of the vehicles.
