Police in suspicious fires appeal in West Lothian
- 1-11-2011
Police are appealing for witnesses following two suspicious fires at businesses under the same ownership in West Lothian.
The first fire was reported at 0050 GMT at the Minerva Food Bar in Livingston.
Officers were then alerted to a second fire at the Grand Central bar in the Carmondean area of the town at about 0220 GMT.
Detectives believe both incidents may be linked and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "Fortunately no-one was injured following these fires. However, both properties have suffered flame damage.
"With these premises under the same ownership, police are investigating the possibility that these crimes are linked and are appealing to the public for help in identifying those responsible.
"Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in or around either business or who can provide us with a description of the suspects is asked to contact police immediately."
