Family flee flames in Tottenham house fire

A family were forced to flee their north London home when fire broke out.

Flames took hold of the terraced home in Elmhurst Grove, Tottenham, in the early hours of the morning.

Three adults and three children managed to escape from the property before the London Fire Brigade arrived.

The fire started at about 0200 GMT and was under control an hour later. A large part of the first floor was destroyed.

Firefighters from Tottenham, Edmonton and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
