Suspected arson at Grimsby council offices
- 9-6-2010
Humberside police are appealing for witnesses after a suspected arson attack on council offices in North East Lincolnshire.
Police said a man forced his way into the basement of the Municipal Offices on Town Hall Square in Grimsby at about 0600 BST on Monday.
He then set fire to some liquid before heading towards Pasture Street.
Humberside Fire and Rescue said they attended a fire at the building at 0615 BST Monday.
The fire service said a joint investigation with Humberside police confirmed the fire was believed to have been started deliberately.
Police said the suspect is described as being a white male wearing black coloured trousers, a black coloured jacket, a black coloured baseball cap and white coloured trainers.
He was holding a white carrier bag at the time.
