Man rescued from Edinburgh blaze

A man was rescued from his home by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a neighbouring flat.

Fire crews were called to the fire in the Muirhouse area of Edinburgh at 2315 BST on Friday.

The fire had taken hold in the living room of a first-floor flat in May Court, Pennywell Medway.

A 31-year-old man was attended to by paramedics for possible smoke inhalation, but did not need hospital treatment.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was in the flat where the fire took hold.
