Gas explosion fear at Loudwell Farm in East Sussex

  • 7-14-2010

An exclusion zone was set up around a barn in East Sussex amid fears a fire could cause a gas cylinder to explode.

Fire crews were called to a blaze at Loudwell Farm in Tinkers Lane, Hadlow Down, at 0300 BST.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service set up a 82ft (25m) exclusion zone as they hosed down the cylinder.

A service spokeswoman said no one was injured in the incident and crews had brought the fire under control by 0600 BST.
