Cause of Telford metal firm fire investigated

An investigation has been started into a major fire at a sheet metal company in Shropshire.

A building belonging to Secal Group Limited on Halesfield industrial estate in Telford caught fire on Sunday night.

The fire caused extensive damage and a nearby gas main also suffered minor damage, police said.

Fire investigators were still at the scene after initial checks revealed the fire was "doubtful" in origin, a police spokesman added.
