Two people were taken to hospital after a house fire in an East Sussex town spread to two neighbouring properties.
A man, aged in his 80s, and a woman, in her 60s, were taken to the Conquest Hospital following the blaze in Norfolk Drive, Hastings.
It is believed they suffered smoke inhalation when the fire ripped through two-floors of one house and badly damaged two others.
It took six fire crews about two hours to extinguish the flames.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire, which started at about 0015 BST on Sunday, was not yet known and investigations had been started.
