Lowestoft residents warned over factory fire chemicals

_48321463_uk_eng_suffolk_lowestoft_0710.gifResidents near a major fire at a food processing factory in Lowestoft are being urged to keep windows and doors closed to prevent breathing problems.

Canisters containing chemicals are reported to have exploded in the fire at Wessex Food, in Hadenham Road.

Twelve fire engines and two air support units are at the scene. Environmental health officials are also involved.

Wessex Food processes mince and burgers, and employs 150 people at its Lowestoft factory.
