Crews remain at large grass fire in Rugeley

Firefighters are still at the scene of a large grassland fire in Staffordshire, thought to have been started deliberately on Tuesday.

Crews are monitoring the scene in Rugeley and dealing with remaining hot spots in the area.

A fire spokesman said crews were seeing an increase in grass fires, most of which were started on purpose.

He added the hot spell meant the grass was dry and that fires easily spread.
