Man's leg crushed under caravan in Galloway park

A man is in hospital with serious leg injuries after becoming trapped under a caravan at a park in Dumfries and Galloway.

The incident happened at about 1610 BST on Thursday at Sandgreen near Gatehouse of Fleet.

A dozen firefighters using lifting equipment managed to free the 44-year-old after 45 minutes.

He was taken by helicopter to Dumfries Infirmary with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Dumfries and Galloway Fire and Rescue Service sent two vehicles to the scene.

They found the man trapped beneath a residential caravan.
