  • 7-7-2010

A maintenance worker has been seriously injured in a fire at Ledbury Community Hospital in Herefordshire.

It is thought the man, in his 60s, was carrying out repairs when an aerosol canister caught fire at about 1130 BST on Tuesday, ambulance staff said.

He suffered serious burns to his head, face, hands, arms and legs and was given pain relief at the scene.

The man was then taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Birmingham where his condition is described as serious.
