Fire crews attend landslide in Nottingham

  • 6-7-2010

Two bathrooms were severely damaged in the incident

Firefighters were called to Sneinton on Sunday after a wall between two rows of houses collapsed due to the landslide.

A fire service spokeswoman said crews attended the scene between Loughborough Avenue and Finsbury Avenue, but no-one was injured or trapped.

Gardens and the backs of eight houses have been damaged.

Two bathrooms were severely damaged and windows were smashed after being hit by debris.

Loughborough Avenue resident Andrew Pendleton, whose garden was damaged in the incident, said: "This time yesterday (Saturday) myself and most of my neighbours were in the garden getting the gardens ready for summer.

"If this had happened yesterday, I think a lot of fatalities would have happened."
