Woman dies in Banbury house fire

A 64-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Banbury.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Hardwick Estate at 1944 BST on Monday.

Firefighters forced their way into the terraced property and searched the house where they found the woman's body.

The fire service and Thames Valley Police are conducting a joint investigation into the cause of the fire.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "There is nothing suspicious at this time and the initial findings are that this is not an arson."
