Three helicopters used to airlift Devon crash victims

Three helicopters were sent to transport the crash victims to hospitals

Three emergency services' helicopters have been involved in a mass airlift operation following a road crash in Devon in which four people were hurt.

A Devon and Cornwall Police helicopter, a Search and Rescue Sea King helicopter and Devon Air Ambulance were alerted shortly after 1200 BST.

Two people were seriously hurt in the single vehicle crash, which happened on the A386 at Folly Gate near Okehampton.

The road was closed for a number of hours while inquiries were carried out.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Westcountry Ambulance also attended the crash scene.

The occupants of the Rover Impression were transported to Derriford Hospital and the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

Their conditions are not known.
