FATALITIES....

Penryn,Cornwall, UK...Tuesday 0500, 8th December 1998..a sixty foot converted barge used as a houseboat experienced a massive explosion shattering windows in nearby premises.

Fire, Police, Coastguard, Air Sea Rescue, Ambulance all involved. A flood tide hampered rescue attempts after identifying a family of four who resided on the vessel could not be accounted for.

Ulimately two persons deceased, one seriously injured, one person ashore at time.

Cause still being investigated.. possible gas explosion. Health and Safety Executive and Environmental Agency involved
