The names that follow on this page are a small tribute to all the fire fighters who have been killed undertaking fire fighting duties and have paid the ultimate price and for which we have details on. During the compilation of this page it has become very apparent that fire fighters names are being lost as time goes by. Paul Mallaghan He was fatally injured when the Saab was struck by a VW Golf, between J7 and J8 near Stevenage, on Saturday night. Mr Mallaghan, who was based at Stevenage fire station, died later in
hospital. Another firefighter was also taken to hospital with injuries. |
Geoffrey Wicker and Brian Wembridge “A fire call was received for Festival Fireworks, Marlie Farm, The Broyle, Shortgate, Near Ringmer, East Sussex on the 3 December 2006 at 13:49 hours.” “In addition to the two fatal casualties nine Firefighters
were also injured along with a police sergeant and two members of the
public. All the Firefighters have now been discharged from hospital although

John Humphries An ICI Nobel's Explosives lorry of standard design, carrying 800 kg of explosives, caught fire while on a routine delivery. The driver pulled into the nearest yard, which was that of Vibroplant plc, Newark road, Fengate, Peterborough, and called the fire brigade. While in attendance, the lorry exploded, killing one fireman and injuring more than 80 people. Read More.... |
