Gas cylinder fear sparked in fire
A fire at an engineering company in Hull sparked concerns about a nearby
gas cyclinder which was in danger of overheating.
Firefighters set up an exclusion zone around the cylinder while tackling
the blaze in Littlefair Road on Wednesday.
Nine firefighters were involved in cooling the acetylene cylinder in
a bid to make it safe.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said crews would remain on the scene
until the cylinder was cool enough to move.
Dan Hind from the Humberside Fire & Rescue Service said: "Cylinders
that have been heated due to a fire can become very unstable and require
thorough cooling before it is safe to approach them."
