School shuts after classroom fire
A Cornish school has been shut for the day after a fire in a classroom.
Emergency services were called to the fire at Doubletrees School in St
Blazey early in the morning.
Firefighters used two hose jets and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish
the flames in the classroom and part of the single-storey school roof.
A school spokeswoman said it was believed to have been caused by an electrical
fault and parents were being informed of the closure.
Damage is believed to be minimal. A ventilation fan was being used to
clear the smoke.
The fire at the school was out within an hour and no-one was injured
The school has about 90 pupils.
