Three arrested over 'arson' death
Three people have been arrested after a woman was killed in a suspected
arson attack at a bedsit in Doncaster.
Firemen rescued 27-year-old Sharon Long from her burning home in Childers
Street, Hyde Park, early on Monday - but she died later in hospital.
Two men and a woman arrested in connection with the incident remain in
custody, South Yorkshire Police said.
The cause of the blaze was being investigated on Monday and police said
they were treating it as suspicious.
A post mortem examination on Ms Long's body revealed she had died from
burns and smoke inhalation.
A South Yorkshire Fire Service spokeswoman said four firemen wearing
breathing apparatus had battled through the blazing house to save the
woman who was found in a first-floor bedroom.
Nobody else had to be rescued from the property, which was split into
four bedsits, she added.
