Fire at animal incineration plant
Firefighters were called to put out a blaze at an animal rendering company
in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The fire broke out at John Pointon and Sons, in Cheddleton, at about
0500 GMT on Sunday morning, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
The plant has been used over recent weeks to help dispose of turkeys
from Norfolk and Suffolk, culled after being infected with bird flu.
The blaze is believed to have been started by one of the plant's ovens.
