Man guilty of house arson attack
A roofer has been found guilty of setting fire to his estranged wife's
house after a drink-fuelled row.
Gary Hooley, 50, was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on
Friday.
Hooley, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, started the fire after rowing
with his wife Michelle at a pub party.
Jurors cleared him of arson with recklessness as to whether life was
endangered. Reports were ordered and he will be sentenced at a later date.
The eight men and four women took just an hour to reach their verdict.
Hooley was remanded in custody.
