Police in suspicious fire probe
Police have appealed for information after a suspicious fire at a block
of flats in Aberdeen.
The fire in Victoria Road, which appeared to have been started deliberately,
happened at about 2300 GMT on Wednesday.
An item of furniture, which had been left on a landing before disposal,
was set alight.
Grampian Police said it put the residents in danger and urged people
not to leave items in communal areas.
A police spokesman said: "We would urge residents in tenements not
only in Torry but anywhere in the city to ensure their building has a
secure door entry system to prevent unauthorised people gaining access.
"We would also strongly advise them not to leave old furniture,
papers or other rubbish in the communal area of the tenement."
