Cause of seafront blaze unknown

Investigators have been unable to pinpoint the cause of a fire that destroyed a seafront complex in Skegness in August.

Lincolnshire Police and the fire service said a full forensic examination has failed to determine what caused the blaze.

The fire in the early hours of 17 August closed down the Grand Parade.

Det Ch Insp Andy West said: "If new evidence comes forward, we will of course investigate this."

A number of bars and shops, as well as an empty hotel, were destroyed in the blaze.

A 200m stretch of Grand Parade was closed off and businesses said the blow came after a summer of bad weather.
