Four rescued from suspicious fire

A fire at a block of flats in Glasgow from which four people had to be rescued was started deliberately, police have said.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in the storage area of a close on Gartloch Road, Garthamlock, at about 0230 GMT.

No-one was injured though homes were temporarily evacuated.

Det Sgt Derek Mateer said: "We were fortunate no-one was seriously injured. We don't want repeat incidents. It's important to catch those responsible."
