Fire causes kennel complex damage

An investigation has been launched after a blaze damaged a kennel complex in southern Scotland.

It took firefighters three hours to bring the incident under control at Midpark House, near Langholm.

The blaze broke out at about 1820 GMT on Monday and emergency teams managed to contain it to outbuildings used for storage.

The fire caused extensive damage to the property but none of the animals nearby were injured.

Fire crews from Langholm, Annan, Gretna, Lockerbie and Hawick were called to the scene.

They battled the blaze for some time before bringing it under control.

A cause has not yet been established for the fire.
