Garage fire closes nearby roads
A fire in East Sussex has been brought under control after it destroyed
a commercial garage and the flat above.
Homes and businesses in St John's Road, Hove, were evacuated and nearby
roads had to be closed at the height of the fire, which broke out at 0830
GMT.
It followed fears that propane gas canisters in the garage could explode,
but they were removed by fire crews.
Nearly 40 firefighters tackled the blaze, and smoke could be seen across
the city.
