Fire service revamp plan debated

A massive plan to revamp the fire service in Gloucestershire goes before the county's planners on Thursday.

Cheltenham's Fire Station could be rebuilt and a new station may also be built in Ukington.

Gloucester would have new community Stations, with the main Eastern Avenue Station demolished and replaced with a smaller facility.

The Deputy Chief Fire Officer told BBC News the new community fire stations should be open by 2010.
