Pair carry man from house on fire

Two men braved a burning house in Bristol to rescue its occupant.

Adam Cavill, 19, and John Boyce, 35, spotted the blaze while driving along West Street in Bedminster on Tuesday.

Mr Cavill smashed a window to gain entry, before the pair rescued the semi-conscious occupant who was banging on a window.

Mr Boyce said: "The first reaction was just to get the guy out. At the time, we didn't think about it." The house and its occupant suffered smoke damage.

A spokeswoman for Avon Fire & Rescue said: "They did a really good job."
