Homes fire treated as suspicious

A fire that badly damaged several houses under construction in Shropshire is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters were called to Holyhead Road, in Ketley, in the early hours of Saturday and the fire took crews more than an hour to bring under control.

No-one was hurt but about a quarter of the development was affected with many properties burned to the ground.

West Mercia Police is investigating the incident which is thought to have been started deliberately.

Paramedics were initially put on stand-by over fears a security guard was missing but he was later accounted for.
