Fire brigade tackle tanker blaze

The emergency services have extinguished a blaze that broke out in a chemical tanker as it drove down a busy Glasgow street.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the driver and a passenger jumping from the vehicle and running up the road as flames licked up the back of their cab.

No-one was hurt in the incident in Dunbreck Road at about 1300 BST.

A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue service said the tanker was carrying non-hazardous ink and water.

Traffic was diverted away from the area for a short time until the small blaze was extinguished.
