Police are appealing for witnesses
Police investigating the suspicious death of a 17-year-old girl have arrested four people in their late teens or early twenties.

Debra Carne's burning body was discovered by the side of a remote country lane in Essex on Monday.

Police said a post-mortem examination had indicated Debra, of Sible Hedingham, Essex, had died of asphyxiation.

The body was found by two people who saw a fire in some bushes in Castle Hedingham at 2230 BST.

As they tried to extinguish the flames, they saw the remains on fire.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about any vehicles or suspicious activity in the area to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said the body was found on a "fairly remote" country road with few houses.
