Firefighters do not know how the fire began
A fire in which two people died is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters discovered the bodies of a 90-year-old woman and a man aged 50 after a fire at a bungalow.

An investigation has started into what caused the fire at the home in Hastings, East Sussex.

Police want to talk to a man seen walking near the scene of the incident, close to the Shearbarn Caravan Park.

Dog walker

Fire crews from Hastings and Bexhill were called to the incident at the bungalow in Barley Lane at 0540 BST.

No-one else was injured.

A spokeswoman for the Sussex Police said police and the fire brigade were still at the scene.

She said: "A dog walker in the area at about 0630 BST reported seeing a person in a light blue top and trousers walking towards them as they approached the nearby East Hill, but the person then appeared to turn away as they saw the walker and his two dogs.

"This person could have vital information about the fire."
