Fire-fighters fail to save blaze man

A man has died after being rescued from a burning flat in Cardiff.

Fire-fighters were called to the 7th floor premises at Nelson House, Loudon Square, Butetown, at 2224 BST on Thursday.

The man was rescued from a bedroom, but all efforts to revive him failed and he was dead on arrival at hospital.

South Wales Fire Service said the cause of the blaze was being investigated but was not being treated as suspicious.
