Fire at Turkish refinery

Firefighters in Turkey have been tackling a big blaze at an oil refinery in the city of Izmit.

The fire broke out after an explosion, the cause of which is not yet known.

A number of the storage tanks at the refinery caught fire, and officials have warned of the danger of it spreading.

The plant, operated by the biggest Turkish oil refiner, Tupras, suffered severe damage in a powerful earthquake in 1999.
