Fire forces hotel evacuation

Guests were evacuated from a seaside hotel in north Wales after a fire was discovered.

Almost 100 residents were told to leave the Hydro hotel on the seafront in Llandudno in the early hours of Saturday while firefighters put out the blaze.

The fire badly damaged a staff bedroom in the basement. A discarded cigarette is thought to have been the cause.
