Man impaled after fall from car

Porsche Boxster
The driver of the Porsche was not injured
A man was impaled on railings after he fell from the back of a Porsche Boxster.

He is undergoing surgery in hospital following the incident in Church Lane, Southowram, Halifax, just before 0230 BST on Saturday.

The injured man, 29, had to be cut free by firemen and police say he suffered arm and torso injuries.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "A 29-year-old local man is believed to have fallen off the back of a Porsche Boxster and landed on metal railings.

"He was released by the fire brigade and taken to Calderdale Royal Infirmary where he is in surgery.

"It's not known how serious his injuries are at this time."

The 41-year-old driver of the car was not injured and police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
